All training courses are offered on an as-needed basis. The schedules are determined by the availability of both instructor and students. Understanding HIPAA for Healthcare Professionals
This course is designed for all healthcare professionals as well as general community members. The course provides a general overview of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) that established the uniform standards for protecting the privacy of healthcare information and providing for the protection of individual healthcare information against unauthorized access or use without proper consent. This course will discuss the basic principles of HIPAA and use real-life scenarios that can affect the patient and you as a healthcare professional.
Occupational Safety and Health Act Course for Healthcare Professionals
The course provides an overview of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, federal agency occupational safety and health responsibilities, and workplace OSHA techniques. Participants are given instruction in various OSHA standards. Special emphasis is directed at safety and health hazards that are causing serious injuries and illnesses in the healthcare sector. The course features mock healthcare related scenarios and use of safety techniques and laboratory equipment.
