Position Overview
We are seeking talented adjunct nursing faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are part-time instructors that may be offered teaching opportunities (up to 9 credits/semester) based on course and faculty demand in the didactic, clinical skills/health assessment/simulation laboratories, and clinical arenas. Adjunct faculty appointments are non-
benefits eligible, fixed-term appointments per semester and contingent upon course enrollment. This posting is continuous to develop and maintain a qualified pool of interested candidates. Key Responsibilities
- Provide exemplary teaching in the didactic, simulation and skills labs, and clinical areas.
- Participate in mentoring and role modeling for nursing students.
- Collaborate with the Clinical & Credential Coordinator for appropriate and optimal student placement.
- Partner with the Director of Nursing Simulation & Skills Lab to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical scenarios within the simulation laboratory environment to optimize student learning outcomes.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program, doctoral degree preferred.
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Illinois.
- Two years teaching experience in nursing education.
- Background and two years of current nursing practice in respective discipline(s).
- Evidence of working collaboratively with a diverse student population.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience with technology/course management systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- The anticipated pay rate is $1,000 per credit hour for didactic sections.
- The anticipated pay rate is $50 per contact hour for lab/clinical sections.
- Adjunct faculty are paid by stipend on a semi-monthly basis.
- The pay rate referenced in the job posting is the budgeted amount that the college reasonably expects to pay for this position. This compensation is subject to change at the sole discretion of the college, based on institutional needs.
