Desiring more out of life? Wanting more of a purpose? More fulfillment? More skills? Becoming a Medical Assistant might be just the thing to help you get what you are looking for!
Medical Assistants are essential medical professionals who add tremendous support to the healthcare industry. Their work ensures that doctors and nurses can focus on what they do best: caring for patients. According to Mr. Kareem M. Irfan, Esq., Executive Vice President for Northwest Suburban College, “Medical Assistants form the backbone of many healthcare settings. Their diverse skill set ensures patient care is efficient and effective.”
At Northwest Suburban College (NWSC), we are here to help people who are in search of a way to become that helping hand to doctors and patients and begin a purposeful and fulfilling career as a Medical Assistant. Our comprehensive 8-month program is designed to help you gain the skillset needed for your next step to the life you desire, with both our classroom instruction and hands-on training. We are here to help you through your journey of growth.
Medical Assistants carry out both clinical and administrative tasks. In clinics and hospitals, they often serve as the first point of contact for patients, making them essential for smooth operations. On the clinical side, Medical Assistants take vital signs, draw blood, and even help with minor surgical procedures. They assist doctors during exams and make sure lab samples are taken correctly. Their tasks require precision and a caring attitude because they often deal directly with patients. Administratively, they handle tasks like scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing billing. They must be organized and detail-oriented to keep patient information accurate and confidential.
Northwest Suburban College offers 6 months of classroom training. Each month we teach, train, and test you on the knowledge you will need to know for your job as a Medical Assistant. All our instructors have organized their classes so that each student receives one-on-one attention as they go through each lesson.
Our admission team is there to go through paperwork and questions with every person who contacts our college.
